My daughter was slightly embarrassed when health class started in school this year. This book was suggested to me by a friend. I think this book is informative and well written and doesn't cause too much embarrassment when discussing. She showed her health teacher who absolutly loved it and sent a letter to parents suggesting they buy it for their daughters.
However, it has been just the opposite. How hard is it to talk to your little girl about growing up. I think this book was an outstanding idea. She read something from the book and then she comes to discuss it with me. I am pretty comfortable with it, but it is still hard to have all the answers and also to try to cover everything. I was a little nervous that when she had the book, she would be less likely to talk to me and ask me questions. Sometimes she has additional questions, needs clarification on something, or just wants to chat. I really feel like she is well-equipped to understand her body and the changes it will be going through soon.

This book is very helpful.it explains a lot to girls and is easy to read. It's a great conversation starter.
It's an easy way to open the door to talk about hair, skin, nail care and puberty, changes in your body, etc. I bought it for my then very mature 8 1/2-yr old daughter. This book is great. My daughter really liked the book and feels very informed on the changes that will take place with her body. A friend told me about the book. I recommend that Mom read it first, then let daughter read it. She's not afraid of them now either. I'd recommend it to every Mom/daughter to make the birds & bees discussion much easier.
